Eric, it’s not your fault. And the opposite: we thank you for giving us this great service!
1 month agoFlavio, while i do appreciate that, when a service such as ours puts itself out there and becomes a part of people’s experience on the web, i think we take on an obligation to make it reliable. Certainly nothing is perfect 24×7x365…and i don’t expect Amplify to be. But when we fall short, it really drives me crazy.
1 month agoDon’t fret, Eric, anything that depends on computers will have an occasional glitch with downtimes in service. When you solve that problem, you will become a wealthy man. Thanks for the apology and for your wonderful SN service.
1 month agoHey Eric, it may sound lame, but I’m relieved to know it was YOU guys and not my buggy browser!
1 month agoI like Amplify only too much to complain about eventual problems.
1 month agoAnd since I slept in… I didn’t notice any problem at all!!!
1 month agoAwwww Eric don’t be so hard on yourself. We love what you do for us and appreciate all we do get. These things happen. Smile your way through life, don’t get stressed, we all love you.
1 month agoFor those of us who were awake and online, it showed us how much we missed Amplify when it was not there. And we are not even paying for it. I wonder how many people would pay something per year to benefit from the Amplify service?
1 month agoThanks for being pro-active Eric. I was not aware of the issue but appreciate your approach and strive for excellence!

Eric,
I’m with Flavio, SH#T happens and its not your lack of keeping your eye on the ball that caused this minor snafu in server output. But like others have noted, its good to see you’re proactive stance on this and paying attention to the details as any top notch Top Exec would do.
I betcha the CEO of Toyota wished he’d been a little more proactive about 99 days ago.
1 month agoWhen Amplify was down this morning I imagined how badly you would feel about it. Just let it go. FIDO. (Forget It and Drive On.) Twitter hits snags, Facebook hits snags. Just think of it as part of the deal now that you’re playing with the big dogs. (What’s up with me and the dog references?) Seriously, FIDO. I love you all way too much to let a very brief down time (we aren’t talking days) be a concern. You guys ROCK!
1 month agoThanks everyone. I greatly appreciate your feedback…and strongly wish we had threaded comments so i could reply to each of you directly.

Eric:
I appreciate the apology (perhaps because I’ve been in the same position a few times).
I wouldn’t make too much of it though since I’m quite impressed by what I’ve seen of your company’s performance in this environment. Furthermore, I know what it costs to strive for a completely fail-safe environment and I doubt that the cost-benefit ratios for this service would be justifiable.
Thanks for caring and for providing this environment.
